Anne-Sophie Mutter
Ahhhh.... So the highlight of this week was ... Anne-Sophie Mutter :). She was playing the Mozart Violin Concertos :)! And the Symphonia Concertanta :) which was SO great. The viola-ist was Yuri Something ... I will have to remember the name. It was really a pity because both had very different playing styles, and it was perhaps too diverse and that made the piece jut out a little :(
But hat Ravel (Something for Left Hand), and also the Bolero the next day... it was ok.
Ok, so many "social activities" this week , I am really broke, so although I really wanted to watch cecilia Bartoli, I didnt make it... (also I was really tired)... But yesterday was the parasit (schiller) with the bochum theater grp. It was really funny... they had like hedgehog day, where they showed different possible endings for the same situation. What I really liked... they had this really tiny door to signify a really loser-guy...
Vijay went for the south american moon (Inca) dance... This is what he wrote, (I am copying his email here, because I had such a good laugh :) ) Opps, just realized it is half in german.... --> is the short translation.
And now i have to rush off... to take ballroom dancing lessons with one of my badminton pal :) It is funny how I got invited... we met on the streets :)
ME: Hey guys!
C & R: Hey, how are you doing? Are you going for the tournament on tues?
ME: Isnt it canceled? the Badnite?
C &R: No no, this is not the Badnite, it is tues tournament
ME: No way, I am too bad for it...
R : Oh, dont worry we are bad too... even last week, I lost to Claudio (C), so we are really bad...
ME: But you always make it sound like C is the lower bound for bad playing ...
C : (*thinks*) WHAT?!? Thanks pal.
ME : Oh but hey, how abt polyball? R, you are ballroom dance crazed
R : I am not going

Funny story happened on the train back. I was not sure if it was
my stop and ran to the door one stop early. At the door, I looked out
and one girl got up from her seat and ran over to the door as well.
(moa)"Muss do auch an der Friesenbergstrasse umsteigen?" --> do you hv to change tram here?
(her)"oh nein nein." --> oh, no no
"okay.." --> ok
"I wollte dir das geben" --> i wanted to give you this
(gives small, folded, green slip of paper)
"ah..."
".. es ist meine Addresse." --> it is my address
"Deine Addresse! uh... umm..." --> your address?
(slowly open green slip)
"Willst du sie nicht haben?Moechtest du nicht ins ---> dont you want it?
Kontakt bleiben...." --> dont you want to stay in touch?
"oh nein nein..." --> oh, no no
(but for a few seconds even our hero is stumped because the -whole-
address, I mean like, street and flat and moblie and landline and all
is there. Like y'naw what ah mean like?)
"Und dein email addresse?" --> and your email address?
(points to the top of the green slip)
"es ist da!" --> it is there!
(like y'naw wot ah mean like?)
"Aha! Okay. Dann schreibe ich dir ein Email" --> I will write you an email..
Okay, that's my funny story for the day. Sweet dreams. (Oh by the way
- she's Columbian, so maybe there was some premonition to the Spanish
Eyes thing)
